A Letter From our President

There will be a meeting for general members of the East Central Touchdown Club this Thursday at 7:00 at the football field house.

Football summer work outs start this week and preparations for the 2010 season need to begin. This meeting is very important for the success of our fundraisers and the future of the Touchdown Club. Our coaches and players are working hard to improve our program! We as parents need to support their efforts! More money needs to be raised to help purchase new equipment, training camps and upkeep on existing facilities.

We have more than 130 young men participating in football from 7 thru 12 grades but fewer than 20 parents participating in Touchdown Club events. Compared to all other sports at ECHS football has asked very little of its parents, its time for change. NOT requesting that you spend 20 hrs a week helping! Just come to meetings and see if there is something you can help get accomplished. We have three major items of the agenda for Thursday meeting:

1) Fundraiser - Golf Tournament (July 11, 2009) Need teams, hole sponsors and donations for door prize’s (see attachment)
2) Fundraiser- Fish Fry
3) Election of new officers- Secretary – for this year. Concession stand director- for next year (help this year and understand the operation)

Please make every effort to attend and support your child’s efforts to become to the best player he can be! Also, not all players and parents have E-mail address so please spread the word of the meeting to other parents!

Game 10

East Central vs. Vancleave

10/31/08

East Central and Vancleave squared off in the Pascgoula River Bowl Friday night in Hurley. The Bulldogs were looking to secure a place in the playoffs, while the Hornets were playing for pride and an opportunity to hoist the Pascagoula River Bowl trophy for the first time. E.C. took the opening Kickoff and started fast as Jarrod Howell hit the sideline and scrabbled 35 yards into Bulldog territory. The drive stalled, but E.C. had gained field position and set the tempo for the game. Vancleave coming off a big upset of Moss Point the week before were heavy favorites in the contest. The Bulldogs moved the ball early, but it was only after a fake punt that their drive continued. The Hornets sent another message when on 4th and 5 from the E.C. 7 yard line, Antonio Polk ran down the Bulldog ball carrier from behind tackling him for a loss. The ball turned over on downs as the home crowd cheered for the defensive stand. On 1st down from the E.C 10 yard line Senior Sam Fairley took the handoff over the left side, found a seam and went 90 yards for the games first score. The extra point by Matt Greenough was good and the Hornets led 7-0. The hard-hitting Defenses dominate play for the next several series. Outstanding plays by Jake Evans, Bradley Green and Anthony Johnson kept Vancleave in check. With approximately six minutes to play in the first half the Hornets elected for go for a 4th down and short from it’s own 45 yard line. The snap was fumbled and the Bulldogs recovered. The Bulldogs would waste little time capitalizing on the mistake. After a couple first downs, Vancleave went to the air and completed a pass for a 28 yard touchdown. The extra point was good and the score was tied at 7-7. Neither team was able to mount any Offense late in the second quarter and the half ended with the score still tied 7-7.

The Hornets came out of the locker room fired up and stopped Vancleave on its first possession with a QB sack by Antonio Polk. E.C. would move the ball quickly into scoring position as Howell swept the right side behind great blocking on his way to a 30 yard run. A late hit tacked on 15 more yards and the Hornets were in business at the Bulldog 10 yard line. From there Bradley Green took the pitch, broke several tackles and powered his way into the end zone. The point after was good by Greenough and E.C. went back on top 14-7. The score charged up the Hornet Defense, as big hits by Howell and Ron Walker forced the Bulldogs to a three and out. E.C took over at their own 23 yard line and began a smash mouth, ball control drive. The line of scrimmage was dominated behind blocks by Lowe, Wells, Hammond, Jones, McCreary, Ehlers and Pearson. The Staff interchanged running backs throughout the drive battering the Vancleave Defense. The ground game by Fairley, Freeman, Howell and Green advanced the ball to the Bulldog 22 yard line. A dive play at the heart of the Defense sent Senior Beau Freeman up the middle to paydirt with a 22 yard TD gallop. The point after by Greenough was good and E.C. led 21-7. The pace would slow down, but the Hornet Defense could sense victory as they continued their relentless pressure on Vancleave’s Offense. With the Game into the 4th Quarter, the Hornets had the ball at their own 17 yard line when Fairley took a pitch off tackle and broke outside for a 70 yard gain. The long run set up Fairley again as he capped off the 83 yard drive with a ten yard TD run. Greenough’s extra point was good and the score stood at 28-7 with 7:30 remaining. Vancleave trying to establish a drive was forced to go for it on 4th down from their own 35 yard line. The Hornets held on the play and took over the ball on downs. The Offense went to work to use as much of the game clock as possible. After a few successful plays E.C. lined up for a 28 yard field goal. Greenough’s kick was perfect and the Hornets held a commanding 31-7 advantage. Vancleave tried to move the ball on one last possession, but the Maroon clad defenders would not budge an inch. E.C. would take a knee on its final two plays as the game clock expired. The scoreboard read East Central 31 and Vancleave 7.

An enthusiastic crowd and exuberant Hornet Team began the long awaited celebration that continued into the Fall night. East Central was presented the Pascagoula River Bowl Trophy during the postgame ceremony, while family and friends savored the teary moment. It was a complete Team effort and showed just how far this squad has come over the course of the season. Coach High recognized his Seniors; Cody Waltman, Ian Hammond, Gabe Jones, Laetner Naramore, Taylor Parker, C.J. Wells, Beau Freeman, Datren Simmons, Sam Fairley, Houston Hopkins, Andrew Lawson, Antonio Polk, Ron Walker and Jarrod Howell for their leadership and commitment this season. These 14 Seniors and their families were recognized prior to the game for their contributions to the Hornet Football program over the last 4 years.

Game 9

East Central vs. West Jones

10/24/08

East Central hosted non-Division foe West Jones Mustangs at H.D. Shirley field Friday night. E.C took the opening kickoff and put together it’s best drive of the night. The drive stalled at the W.J. 27 yard line and Matt Greenough’s 42 Yard field goal attempt was no good. The Mustangs’ reputation for wide-open Offense lived up to it’s billing. W.J. took the punt and with a 3rd and long connected on a middle screen pass for a long touchdown. The extra point was good and the Mustangs took an early lead 7-0. E.C. was unable to move the ball and punted to the Mustangs. W.J. again used the passing game beautifully setting up a short 15 yard touchdown pass. The point after was true for a 14-0 lead. E.C. picked up a first down before punting the ball back to the Mustangs. W.J. moved deep into Hornet territory before Chad Belcher made a hard tackle on the ball carrier causing a fumble. The fumble was recovered by Stephen Heil at the E.C. 27 yard line. E.C. was 3 and out and punted back to W.J. The Mustangs moved the ball, but the Hornet Defense forced a field goal attempt. The kick was no good and the score stood at 14-0. Starting at their own 20 yard E.C. went to the pass. QB Houston Hopkins hit an open Jamaal Johnson for a first down. Later in the drive the Hornets used a little trickery. Hopkins passed to Shane Pearson who pitched the ball to a trailing Jarrod Howell (the old hook & ladder). The play picked up good yardage, but time ran out before the Hornets moved into scoring position. West Jones went into halftime leading 14-0.

W.J. received the 2nd half kickoff and after a QB sack by Ron Walker, continued to mix the run and the pass. The Mustangs again connected on a TD pass to extend their lead. The extra point was good and pushed the margin to 21-0. A tough W.J. Defense again forced E.C. to 3 and out. The Mustangs decided to try and pass to the other side of the E.C. Defense. Senior cornerback Jarrod Howell made them pay with his 2nd interception of the year. E.C. took over and unfortunately fumbled the ball back to the visitors from Soso, MS. With good field position the Mustangs looked like they would score, but on 4th and 1 the Hornets held. E.C. pressured the QB and Beau Freeman made the saving tackle. The two Defenses would dominate the majority of the 2nd half holding the Offenses to less production. Another highlight for E.C. was a 4th down interception by Heil, his second turnover in the game. With less than a minute left and a lot of new faces in the game, W.J. scored on a 60 yard run. The extra point was good for the final score of 28-0.

The Hornets produced a game low in total Offense, and was shutout for the first time this year. The Games standout players for the Hornets were; Houston Hopkins, Antonio Polk, Beau Freeman, Ian Hammond, Ron Walker and Stephen Heil. East Central closes out their 2008 campaign next week at home against the Vancleave Bulldogs.

On Friday night East Central traveled the short distance to Dantzler Stadium to face Division foe Moss Point. The Tigers took the opening kickoff and were stopped by the Hornets. After a short punt, E.C. took the ball and briskly moved deep into M.P. territory behind the running of Datren Simmons. The drive would abruptly end when a very controversial fumble was picked up and returned for a Tiger score. The extra point was good and M.P. led 7-0. The teams traded fumbles, and after a recovery by Chad Belcher, E.C. took over at their own 25 yard line. A short pass in the flats was intercepted by M.P. for their 2nd defensive score. The point after was true and M.P. extended its lead to 14-0. The Hornets were still unable to generate much offense and punted to the Tigers. M.P. started their next possession around midfield and after a long run was at the Hornet 17. The E.C. defense stiffened and forced a field goal attempt that was good for a 17-0 lead. Again the defenses held and forced punts. With less than a minute before halftime E.C. started at their own 20 yard line. On 2nd and five the Hornets used a double handoff to Jarrod Howell. Behind great blocking, Howell raced 75 yards to paydirt. The extra was blocked and the score stood at 17-6. An inspired Hornet defense forced another fumble, but was unable to capitalize right before halftime.

E.C. received the 2nd half kickoff, but was unable to mount a drive. Moss Point again starting at midfield, put their running game in gear and moved down deep into the red zone. A short TD plunged by the Tigers padded their lead. The extra point was no good to put the score at 23-6. The Hornets would quickly answer on a 73 yard touchdown run by Sam Fairley. The point after by Matt Greenough was good and E.C. had pulled to within 23-13. The Tigers continued to run hard and netted several good runs. The final run was a 12 yarder for a TD. The extra point was good and the Tigers led 30-13. After a three and out, E.C. punted back to the Tigers. M.P. then went to the air, connecting on a long pass play deep in Hornet territory. A second quick pass for 8 yards resulted in a TD. The extra point followed and the Tigers were on top 37-13. After several change of possessions, M.P. started again at midfield and behind some power running, marched down for their final TD on the night. The point after was good and the score stood at 44-13. E.C. would rise up and start a nice 77 yard drive behind some great running by Junior Jake Evans. Fairley would rush the last 5 yards for the touchdown. The extra point was no good and the Hornets trailed 19-44. A successful onside kick by E.C. was recovered, but the Tigers returned the favor and forced a fumble by E.C. M.P. elected to run out the clock and preserve a 44-19 Homecoming victory.

Injuries continue to plague E.C. as Datren Simmons went down with a knee injury. Meanwhile, the Hornet defense is still without LB Laetner Naramore who suffered a shoulder injury. Jarrod Howell returned to action to contribute on both Offense and Defense. Sam Fairley with 148 yards and two TD’s and Jarrod Howell with over 100 yards and one TD led the Offense. The guys up front had some tremendous blocks. Outstanding blockers were Josh and Jesse Jones along with Anthony Johnson. Defensive standouts were Jamaal Johnson, C.J. Wells and Bradley Green. The Hornets return home Friday night against non-division rival West Jones.

Coming off of last weeks great win, East Central visited the Gautier Gators at War Memorial Stadium in Pascagoula, Ms.. The Hornets received the opening kick off and set up Offense at their own 35-yard line. E.C. began moving the ball behind great blocking and a good mixture from the running game. The Hornets used several running backs, Beau Freeman and Datren Simmons to eat up big chunks of yardage. The return of Sam Fairley gave a boost to the Offense as he darted the final 18 yards for the games first score. Matthew Greenough’s extra point kick was good and the Hornets led 7-0. Gautier would soon answer with a long double pass, which set up a 1 yard plunge by QB Travonta Thomas. The extra point by Gautier was good and the game was tied 7-7. E.C., with poor field postion was unable to move the ball and punted to Gautier. The Gators started at the E.C. 45 yard line and struck quickly with a 45 yard TD pass play for the go ahead score. The extra point attempt was no good and the score stood at 13-7. On E.C.’s next possession the running game got going again as they picked up several 1st downs. The drive then stalled and Hornets were forced to punt. A good punt by Freeman pinned Gautier deep on their end of the field. Some nifty scrambling by the QB got the Gators some key 1st downs and moved the ball into E.C. territory. The Hornet defense rose up and forced Gautier to attempt a long field goal but, the center’s snap was high and the scoring threat was halted. E.C. took over in Gator territory and seized the 2nd quarter momentum. Fairley bolted through the line for a 10-yard TD run. Again Greenough’s kick was good and the Hornets led 14-13 with 2:09 remaining in the 1st half. That proved to be more than enough time for the Gators as they marched down to the Hornets end of the field and scored on a 32 yard TD pass. The Gator staff decided to go for a two point converstion. The option play worked well and Gautier was back on top 21-14 going in at halftime.

Gautier took the 2nd half kick off, but was unable to get a 1st down. The Hornets took over at their own 26 yard line and moved the ball well. Again mixing in different running backs like Jesse Jones, Bradley Green and Simmons and an occasional pass play, E.C. was again at the Gator 3 yard line. From there, Fairley scord his third TD of the game. Greenough’s kick was good and the game was tied again at 21-21. An inspired Hornet Defense forced a Gator fumble and Chad Belcher recovered the ball at the Gautier 36 yard line. E.C. took over and rumbled down to the 19-yard marker before committing a fumble of their own, killing the scoring opportunity. This play seemed to take the air out of the Hornets and forced the Defense back on the field. Gautier then broke a long run and only a TD saving tackle by Mike Fairley saved the score. As the 4th Quarter began, Gautier went to the air once again for a 12 yard TD pass. The point after was good and the Gators led 28-21. The Hornets took the kick off and looked to be driving for the tie when an interception gave the ball back to Gautier. The Gators would run the ball and the clock on their way to a 1-yard QB sneak. The point after was good and Gautier led 35-21. The last possession for E.C. started at their own 10-yard line following a mishandled kick off. The Hornets worked hard and drove into Gator territory before an attempted halfback pass was picked off by Gautier. Gautier was able to run out the clock and seal the Division win 35-21.

Another close game had escaped the Hornets in the final period. E.C. moved the ball well behind the blocking of Jarrod Ray, Ian Hammond and Gabe Jones, picking up 296 yards on the ground. The return of Sam Fairley produced 170 yards and three TD’s, while Beau Freeman, Jesse Jones, Jake Evans and Datren Simmons produced several fine runs. The Defense played tuff, led by Mike Fairley, Beau Freeman, Chad Belcher and Andrew Lawson. The Hornets stay in Division next week with a game at Moss Point.

Coach Dosset reports that in the 7th grade game Travis Kirkland scored the TD and Landon Laughlin scored the extra points.

In the 8th grade game, a 71 yard TD pass from Devin Tanner to Kaleb Backlin opened the game with xpoint by Kyle Waltman. 2nd TD scored by Kaleb Malone with xpoint by Drew Depperschmidt. A Great Team Effort Coach Dossett reports. Greene County finished the season undefeated with a 7-0 record. ECMS 8th Grade record 2 wins 4 losses. 7th Grade record won 2, Lost 2, Tied 2. Next game at home against Gautier Thurs. Oct 16.

“Homecoming Game 2008”

East Central entertained the Stone County Tomcats for Homecoming Friday night and what a Homecoming it was. If you like Defense, drama and last minute heroics this was your kind of game. The Hornets received the opening kick off and was unable to move the ball and punted to Stone County. Field position was a huge factor in the game and thanks to Senior punter Beau Freeman the Tomcats were pinned deep for most of the game. The Tomcats took over on their own 17 yard line, Jake Evans broke up a third and long pass attempt to force Stone Co. to punt. E.C. was unable to pick up yardage and Freeman again got off a great punt. Stone Co. took over, but after several penalties the ball was turned back over to E.C. on a short punt. The Hornets starting in good field position picked up a couple of first downs and moved to the Stone Co. 20 yard line. The drive stalled and E.C.’s Matthew Greenough attempted a 37 yard field goal that was wide left. The Tomcats opened up their passing attack and began to pick up yardage. A quick set pass resulted in an apparent touchdown, but an obvious holding call negated the score. Stone Co. then punted and E.C. was set up on their own 36 yard line. On the first play of the series, Stone Co intercepted an errant pass from Quarterback Stephen Heil. The Tomcats now had there best field position of the first half at their own 42 yard line. Sticking with the passing game Stone Co. moved into Hornet territory aided by a critical facemask penalty. Stone Co. went to the run and broke the goal line for a touchdown, again a holding penalty erased the score. On 4th and goal an attempted pass to the end zone was played perfectly by Senior C.J. Wells. The pass was broken up and the Hornet defense had held again to keep the game scoreless. Three quick plays for E.C. and Freeman came on for his third punt of the first half. With time running down in the 1st half, the Tomcats went deep for a homerun pass, defensive back Jarrod Howell running stride for stride with receiver went up high for the interception. E.C. took over and ran out the last few seconds of the 1st half with the score knotted at zero. The Hornet defense had with stood the Stone Co. barrage to keep them off the scoreboard. The big loss of the first half was an ankle injury to E.C.’s primary running threat, Senior Sam Fairley. On the third play of the game Fairley was injured and would not return for the rest of the Game.

Stone Co. would start the 2nd half with a three and out, as the rested Hornet defense picked back up with their swarming, aggressive play. Needing a spark on Offense E.C. began their first possession of the 3rd quarter. With ball resting on the Hornet 33 yard line and facing 3rd and seven, Senior Jarrod Howell answered the call. Howell took the double handoff from Datren Simmons and weaved through the defense behind two great blocks from

A.J. McCreary and Beau Freeman. That was all Howell needed, as he out raced the secondary for a 67 yard touchdown and the games first score. The extra point by Greenough was no good and E.C. led 6-0. An inspired Hornet defense took the field and shut down the Tomcats offense. The punt attempt was foiled by a high snap and the Stone Co. punter tossed the ball out of the end zone for a safety. That pushed E.C.’s lead to 8-0. The Hornet’s received the free kick, but was unable to move the chains. Freeman got off another good punt to pin Stone Co. inside their own 20 yard line. The Tomcats was unable to penetrate the maroon swarm and punted the ball back to E.C.. Starting at their own 18, as the 4th quarter began the Hornets found the going tuff. On 4th and long Freeman’s punt attempt was blocked and returned for a 15 yard touchdown. Stone Co. would elect to run the ball for a successful two-point conversion. The score now stood at 8-8. Neither Team could move the ball and exchanged punts. With under 6:00 minutes to play from it’s own 34 yard line, E.C. started moving the ball behind running from Simmons and Howell. Later in the drive on 4th and 1 from the Stone Co. 24 yard line Howell picked up the first down, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty tacked on 15 more yards to the run. Now inside the 10 yard line, Simmons’s sweep moved the ball to the 2 yard line. From there Howell took a pitch and found a seam to score the go ahead touchdown. The extra point was good by Richard Guardia and the Hornets were back on top 15-8. With the tensions running high, Stone Co. recovered E.C.’s short kick off with 1:58 remaining and two time outs. Key quarterback sacks by Andrew Lawson and Jake Evans forced the Tomcats to use their last two time outs. On 4th down Stone Co. went for it all throwing a fade route into the end zone. Senior cornerback C.J. Wells leaped up and knocked down the pass to seal the victory. E.C. was able to kneel down and run off the final seconds of the game for their first win on the season 15-8.

Offensively leading the way blocking this week was Colby Ehlers, A.J. McCreary and Shane Pearson. Jarrod Howell ran for 103 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns. The Defense ran its streak without allowing a touchdown to 6 straight quarters. This week the entire defense stepped up and made plays in key situations led by Jake Evans, Brance Crane, Mike Fairley and Ron Walker.

Congratulations to Coach Marcus High on his first win as East Central’s Head Football Coach. Coach High, a native and graduate of Stone Co. made the victory even more rewarding. In all, there were a lot of emotions and pride at stake in this contest. Some bright news was the return of Jesse Jones from an injury that caused him to miss several games. This was truly a TEAM effort. The Hornets travel to Pascagoula next week to play Gautier. Also, the Football Team would like to congratulate Samantha Wells for being crowned 2008 East Central Homecoming Queen.

Game 5

Forrest County vs. East Central

9/26/08

East Central traveled to Brooklyn, MS Friday night to face the Aggies of Forrest County. The Hornets received the opening kickoff, but was unable to pick up a first down and punted to F.C. The Aggies started a time consuming 78 yard scoring drive capped by a touchdown run. The extra point was no good and F.C. led 6-0. Again E.C. couldn’t move the ball and punted to the Aggies. F.C. took over in good field position at their own 43 yard line. As the 2nd quarter began F.C. moved the ball deep into red zone before scoring on a touchdown run. The two-point conversion pass was good and F.C. led 14-0. The Aggies attempted an on side kick, but the Hornets recovered at the F.C. 48 yard line with good field position. E.C. went to work finally getting their Offense on track. With 1st and goal from the F.C. 10 yard line, misfortune struck as the Hornets fumbled and the Aggies recovered. A long pass and catch by F.C. moved the ball deep into Hornet territory. The E.C. Defense would stiffen and force a field goal attempt. The field goal was good and F.C. held a commanding lead 17-0. E.C. would again move the ball on the ground and drive down field at will. Sam Fairley galloped the final distance scoring for E.C. The extra point was blocked and the score was 17- 6. The defense held F.C. as time expired and the Clubs headed to the locker rooms.

E.C. started the 2nd half with an on side kick that was recovered by Jamal Johnson. The Hornets were in great position at the Aggie 46 yard line. E.C. began to move the ball mixing in some passes with the running game. An interference call against F.C. gave the Hornets a first down. From there Fairley would score his second touchdown run on the night. The extra point was no good and E.C. trailed 17-12. On F.C. next possession a fumble recovered by Ron Walker put the Hornet Offense back on the field at the Aggie 35 yard line. E.C. was unable to take advantage of the opportunity and punted to the Aggies. F.C. Offence took the ball and methodically moved it to the Hornet 10 yard line. The Hornets would hold and force another field goal attempt. The kick was good and F.C. was up 20-12. With the game very competitive and the outcome yet to be decided, the next five minutes would prove disastrous for the Hornets. After E.C. failed to pick up a first down they punted to the Aggies. Senior Bobo Morgan fielded the punt and returned it for a touchdown. The extra point was good and F.C. led 27-12. The Hornets refused to quit and moved the ball deep into scoring position. Two costly penalties moved them backwards creating 4th and long. The fourth down pass was picked off by Morgan who returned it all the way for a touchdown. The point after was good making the score 34-12. E.C received the kick off and started at their own 30 yard line. On the first play of the drive the Aggies stripped the ball away from the Hornet ball carrier and scooped it up for another F.C. score. The extra point was no good and the score stood at 40-12. The visiting crowd was stunned at the sudden change of events and the once close contest had become one sided. E.C. made one last effort moving the length off the field with Fairley scoring his third touchdown of the night. The extra point was no good for the final score 40-18. A lot of young Hornet players got in the game late for some valuable playing time.
Sam Fairley was the leader on Offense, as he rushed for over 200 yards and three touchdowns behind good blocking from Jason Wells and Kevin Lowe. Tight End Shane Pearson made several key receptions to keep drives alive. The defense only allowed 20 points on the night and was lead by Jake Evans, Ron Walker and Bradley Green. The Hornets return home for Homecoming next Friday night against Stone County.

HOMECOMING WEEK
This week is Homecoming and there are lots of activities. Monday night is a 9th/JV game, parents are needed to work in the concession stand and help clean up and restock. Thursday is the parade and Community Pep Rally. Parents are needed to work in the concession stand and help clean up/restock. Friday night is the Homecoming game, concessions clean up and restockers needed again. Remember, the concession stand is our biggest fund raising effort. Your help is needed.

BANQUETS
It is time to begin planning the end of year banquets for Middle School and High School. Shannon Stockman, a High School parent, has volunteered to Chair a committee for the Middle School banquet (so that she may enjoy the High School banquet). The Touchdown Club still needs a parent to Chair a committee for the High School Banquet. It would be great if a Middle School parent would volunteer. Don't be afraid to volunteer if you've never planned an event such as this, there are lots of parents who have helped in the past and will help you this year. Contact any officer or representative to volunteer or ask questions!

Coach Dossett reports that the 7th Grade played a tough D'Iberville Team. The Hornets managed to score on a touchdown run by Jake Eaker. The score was 6-0 going into the 4th QTR when D'Iberville scored in the last minute to tie the game 6-6. The game ended in a tie but a valient effort by the 7th Grade football team. Bob Dillard, Landon Laughlin, Justin Plummer, Sam Rodgers and Austin English all had great games.

8th Grade Game

Coach Dossett reports that the 8th Grade game was tied 0-0 going into halftime. It was a great team effort defensively against a much larger, stronger, and faster D'Iberville Team. In the second half the Warriors took a quick 0-6 lead. The Hornets battled back with a touchdown by Michael Jordan and Caleb Malone. This was an excellent defensive effort that came down to the last second when D'Iberville was on the Hornet 5 yard line when the Hornets made a great defensive stand to hold off a very good D'Iberville team that last week had defeated the Vancleave Bulldogs. Drew Depperschmidt, Bryce Jackson, Kaleb Malone, Tyler Evans, Blake Clayton, Hunter Pearson, Kyle Waltman, Jacob Bosarge, Brett Anderson and a host of other players lead a tremendous effort to defeat a very good D'Iberville team. A great win for the young Hornets.

East Central High School

The East Central returned Home Friday to open District play against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets. With both teams winless in the early 2008 campaign the county rivals squared off for a hard hitting affair. E.C. received the opening kickoff at their own 35 yard line. The Hornets would go on a 65 yard line march entirely on the ground. The last 3 yards were covered on a run by Sophomore QB Stephen Heil. The extra point was good by Kicker Richard Guardia for an early 7-0 lead. S.M. would answer with a drive of their own mixing up the run and pass. The Jackets touchdown came on a 26 yard pass play, the extra point was good and the game was tied. 7-7. E.C. found the going tuff and was forced to punt. A mishandled snap gave S.M. good field position at the 50 yard line. The visitors moved down the field and scored their second touchdown on a 20 yard pass. The point after was good and S.M. led 14-7. E.C.’s next possession started at it’s own 30 yard line. After a short 3 yard gain on first down Sam Fairley broke several tackles before outrunning the Jacket secondary. Guardia’s extra point kick was good and the score was again tied at 14-14. Most of the 2nd quarter was dominated by some punishing defense by both squads. With less than two minutes left in the 1st half S.M took over and moved down to the E.C. 31 yard line. The Jackets would pull out a trick play and catch the Hornets completely off guard. Dartez Bately took the reverse around right end and go untouched for the touchdown. The point after was good and S.M. had a 21-14 lead. With time running out E.C. attempted a deep pass that was intercepted and set up a 31 yard field goal. The kick was good and the Jackets went into the locker room leading 24-14.

An unsuccessful onside kick gave the Jackets the ball at the E.C. 40 yard line. But an inspired Hornet defense would rise up and perfectly execute Defensive Coordinator Josh Bishop’s 2nd half adjustments. The drive stalled and the S.M. field goal was no good and the score remained 24-14. The Hornets and Jackets would exchange several punts before in late 3rd quarter E.C. would find some momentum. E.C. began the drive at it’s own 20 yard line looking at 80 yards to pay dirt. Behind some fine blocking the Hornet rushers galloped for chucks of yardage. With the ball on the S.M. 20 yard line, E.C. swept the right side with Datren Simmons. Simmons took the pitch and raced to the corner of the end zone for a Hornet touchdown. The extra point was no good and E.C. had cut the margin to 24-20. The Hornet defense would bow up once again and force the Jackets to punt the ball . E.C. took possession at it’s own 25 yard line with 5:04 to play in the game. Needing a touchdown to win, the Hornets started the drive and converted several 3rd down and long situations. The big play was delivered by Junior fullback Josh Jones who rambled deep into Jacket territory with an outstanding run. As the Home crowd cheered, the maroon clad warriors huddled for one last charge. The going became tough and the Hornets were faced with 4th down and three yards to go for a first down. With the game on the line E.C was stopped short of the mark and S.M. took over on downs. S.M was able to run the clock down before being forced to punt. E.C. would have one last try, but a desperation pass was picked off by the Jackets to end the game with the final score 24-20 in favor of St. Martin.

The Hornets rushed for 257 yards on the night, but the passing of St. Martin was the difference in the game. Sam Fairly led the Hornets with 146 yards rushing and one touchdown. The defense responded in the second half by holding the Yellow Jackets scoreless. The defense was led by Antonio Polk, Anthony Johnson and Jared Ray. The Hornets fall to 0-4 and 0-1 in District play.

Game 3

Harrison Central

For the second week in a row East Central battled a 5A opponent, the Red Rebels from Harrison Central. The Hornets traveled to Lyman to face the biggest High School in the State of Mississippi. With rain threatening and winds gusting out of the east E.C. took the ball on the opening kick off. Unable to move the ball the Hornet’s punt attempt resulted in a safety. The snap back sailed over punter Beau Freeman’s head and out of the end zone for an early Rebel 2-0 lead. The free kick was recover by E.C and the Hornets had good field position at their own 45 yard line. Three quick plays resulted in minimum yardage and E.C. was forced to punt again. Once again the long snap was high and H.C. recovered the ball at the E.C 10 yard line. The Rebels wasted little time scoring on a 2 yard run. The extra point was no good and H.C. led 8-0. E.C. found the going tough against the stiff wind and kicking game even more difficult. E.C. got its first break of the game when Shane Pearson recovered a H.C. fumble at the E.C. 45 yard line. The Hornet offense found a rhythm with several good runs by Sophomore Stephen Heil. Then Junior Bradley Green took a handoff and burst up the middle into the Rebel secondary for a 48 yard touchdown. Richard Guardia’s extra point was good and the score stood at 8-7. Next H.C. would follow E.C.’s score with a 75 yard scoring march of their own, highlighted by a 40 yard touchdown run. Jarrod Howell deflected the extra point atempt pushing the score to 14-7. The Hornet offense sputtered on its next possession and was forced to punt. A spectacular 60 yard punt return for a touchdown by H.C.’s Donnell Dunnigan increased the Home Teams margin. A successful point after gave the Rebels a 21-7 lead. Again E.C was unable to pick up a first down. This time with wind in E.C.’s favor, Freeman got off a great punt. The Hornet Defense rose up and shut down the powerful Rebel Offence forcing a punt into the wind. After a short punt E.C. took over inside H.C.’s 20 yard line. The Hornets moved the ball well behind excellent running and blocking. From 4 yards out Green bowled into the end zone for his second touchdown on the night. The extra point was blocked and E.C. trailed 21-13. H.C. was unphased by the score and started a time consuming 80 yard drive for their fourth score of the 1st half. The final 9 yards were covered on a quarterback keeper, the extra point was good for a 28-13 halftime lead.

The second half opened with H.C. picking up where they had left off. Moving the ball at will before Dunnigan exploded for a 41 yard touchdown run. The extra point was good and the lead was extended to 35-13. After several punt exchanges and sound defensive stands the Hornets took over at the H.C. 42 yard line. E.C. controlled the ball moving it down to the 1 yard line. On fourth and goal from the 1 yard line Sam Fairley muscled his way in for the score. Guardia’s point after was true and the score was now 35-20. With the Hornet defense playing hard, numerous 4th quarter drives went nowhere for H.C. The Hornet woes continued when the ball was snapped over the quarterback’s head for a second safety giving H.C. a 37-20 lead. E.C. mounted a late drive that stalled and Richard Guardia attempted a field goal, the kick was wide and the score remained 37-20. The Rebels were able to run out the clock and close out a Homecoming victory.

On the night Bradley Green had 62 yards on just six carries and two touchdowns, Sam Fairley added 78 yards and a touchdown to highlight the Offense. The Offensive line throughout the first three games has provided great blocking behind the leadership of Seniors Ian Hammond, Cody Waltman and Gabe Jones. Standouts for the Hornet Defense this week were Jamaal Johnson, Andrew Lawson and C.J. Wells. On the injury front the defense welcomed back Senior Defensive lineman Ron Walker who returned from a knee injury. Starters Laetner Naramore is sidelined after having successful shoulder surgery this week, also Jesse Jones missed the contest while he rehabilitates his knee. After a 0-3 start against a strong non-District schedule East Central returns home Friday night to begin Regional play against St. Martin.

Coach Dossett reports that the 8th grade defeated Faith Academy 14-12. At half-time, ECMS was behind 12-0 but came back with a thrilling victory. Michael Jordan scored on a 62 yard TD Run and on a 6 yard run. Coach would like to recognize the following: extra point by Kyle Waltman, a fumble recovery by Kaleb Malone, interceptions by Drew Depperschmidt and Tyler Evans, and great defensive effort by the TEAM.

Coach May reports that the 7th grade Football team showed great improvement against Faith Academy (14-0) after a disappointing performance last week at Vancleave (0-0). Landon Laughlin lead the defense to its 2nd shutout of the season. Anthony Williams and Laughlin both had defensive takeaways, while Kyle Rice and Austin English both played strong and the defensive side of the ball. The offense picked it up this week, after not scoring last week, scoring twice on 2 long touchdown runs by Jake Eaker. The offensive line did a good job opening up running lanes, and Justin Plummer was terrific managing the team on the field. All the players and coaches would like to say thanks to all the Teachers, Staff and Parents for coming out to showing their support, we really appreciate everything you do for the team.

East Central's 2008 home opener against 5A Pascagoula was rescheduled for Saturday evening due to disruption from Hurricane Gustav. In recent years, East Central and Pascagoula have played some very exciting games, this year’s game would not disappoint the packed house at H.D. Shirley Field. Goula took the opening kickoff and marched deep into Hornet territory before coughing up the ball at the E.C. 16 yard line. The fumble was caused by linebackers Beau Freeman and (Junior) Bradley Green’s tackle and was recovered by Sam Fairley. The Hornets set out on an 84 yard ball control drive, culminating with Datren Simmons' 1 yard plunge. Richard Guardia kicked the extra point and gave E.C. an early 7-0 lead. Goula responded with a march down to the E.C. 15 yard line and on 3rd and long completing a pass for the TD. The extra point was good and the game was tied 7-7.

Now in the 2nd quarter, the Hornets behind, a steady diet of Fairley, Simmons and physical running by Jesse Jones move down the field on the Panther defense. On a quick toss to Fairley, behind good blocking, the Senior scored on a 34 yard run. The extra point by Guardia squeezed through the left upright and E.C went back on top 14-7. The Panthers would move the ball, but the Hornet defense stiffened and a 43 yard field goal attempt was good to close the margin at 14-10. Goula then recovered their own squib kick and the Hornet defense was put right back in the fire. They quickly responded as a deep pass was deflected by Senior Jarrod Howell and intercepted by Fairley to halt the scoring threat. As was most of the night the penalty flags littered the field on E.C.’s next possession and the Hornets were forced to punt. With just over two minutes left and the ball on the Hornet 40 yard line Goula went to work. The Hornets held and forced what appeared to be a 30 yard field goal attempt. Then on a key play in the game, with only 3 seconds remaining in the half, the Panthers faked the field goal and completed a 13 yard TD pass. With the extra point true the Panthers held a shocking 17-14 point advantage at halftime.

The special team woes continued as E.C. mishandled the opening kick off of the 2nd half setting up Goula with great field position. On the first play from scrimmage Jerrell Dallas lofted a 27 yard TD pass. The Panthers had struck quickly. Goula’s extra point was good for a 24-14 lead. After several punt exchanges and good defensive plays by both teams E.C. took over on it’s own 20 yard line. The Hornets staying with the run called on Sam Fairley once again. The 180 pound running back would not disappoint the vocal home crowd as he scampered 80 yards for an E.C. TD. Guardia would add his third extra point and the Hornets had narrowed the deficit to 24-21. The 4th quarter began with Goula at the E.C. 45 yard line. The Panthers moved inside the red zone and on 3rd and goal Dallas found an open receiver for a TD, his third TD pass of the game. The point after attempt was no good and score stood at 30-21. In the 2nd half the Hornets added in the passes converting on several positive plays. With 3:45 remaining E.C. would mount a drive mixing up the run and pass. A nice gain came from a Houston Hopkins pass to Shane Pearson. Then Fairley bulled into the end zone from 3 yards out for the TD. The extra point failed and the Hornets trailed 30-27. An attempted onside kick was recovered by Pascagoula, which was able to run out the last minute on the clock. The game pitted Pascagoula’s air attack against East Central’s ground game and the Hornets simply ran out of time. Sam Fairley had a big night with 224 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns. He also had an interception and a fumble recovery. An injury riddled Hornet defense was led by Bradley Green, Jarrod Howell and Chad Belcher. As a team, E.C. showed much improvement from week one and never stopped battling. The Hornets drop to 0-2 on the season in two closely contested games.

For the opening season game East Central traveled to Leakesville to face the Wildcats of Greene County. On a hot and humid night the Hornets looked to start the 2008 campaign with a victory. The game marked the debut for first year head coach Marcus High and his retooled staff. The Wildcats took the opening kickoff and marched the length of the field for the games first score. A short run by QB Mitchell Brown opened the scoring, the extra point was unsuccessful (6-0). After E.C was unable to move the ball, G.C. took over and once again drove deep into Hornet territory. A gutsy stand by the Hornet defense turned back the Wildcat threat. The momentum seem to turn and the E.C. offence preceded to drive the ball at will, mixing up the running game both inside and outside. The drive stalled and E.C. turned the ball over inside the G.C. ten yard line. The still fired up Defense came out and immediately created and recovered a fumble giving possession back the Offense. E.C found the goal line as Datren Simmons scored from two yards out, the extra point was no good (6-6). The ensuing kick off was huge as Brown weaved his way through the coverage and scored on an 81 yard run, the point after was good (13-6). East Central fumbled on their next drive giving the potent Wildcat Offense another opportunity. G.C. wasted little time scoring on the first play with a 62-yard pass completion from Brown to Lance Smith, the extra point was good (20-6). E.C. responded with a solid drive culminating on a one yard run by Sam Fairley, the extra point failed (20-12). With 1st half winding down E.C. had only to ponder their three early fumbles.

The second half began positive for the Hornets as they took the kickoff and began a march toward pay dirt. The drive ended when Fairley scored his second touchdown on a superb 58 yard run. E.C was successful on a two point conversion when Fairley found Shane Pearson wide open in the end zone. (20-20). G.C. engineered a long drive deep into E.C. territory, but the Defense came up big with Junior Chad Belcher recovering a Wildcat fumble. E.C. moved the ball out to their own 32 yard line and on 4th down and one yard to go, Coach High decided to go for it. The decision proved a good one as Senior Datren Simmons broke through the line and hit the sideline for a 67 yard touchdown run. Richard Guardia’s kick was true and the Hornets had the first lead of the night 20-27. The Wildcats would answer quickly with a drive of their own for six points and a successful point after. (27-27). The Home team got a big break when E.C. fumbled on the kickoff setting up G.C at the E.C. 32 yard line. From there G.C wasted little time scoring touchdown on an eleven yard run, the extra point was no good (33-27). As the fourth quarter began the Hornets showed their pride as the Offence moved the ball well, but with a 4 down and one yard to go the fumble bug struck again ending the threat. G.C. drove down inside the E.C. five yard, but a penalty forced a 22 yard field goal that was good (36-27). Once last possession for E.C. was unproductive and G.C. took over inside E.C. territory. With the clock winding down and fatigue setting in on the Hornets the Wildcats closed out the scoring on a 17 yard run the extra point was no good (42-27). G.C. took the win and E.C. has to move forward and prepare for their Home opener against Pascagoula. On the night E.C. had two 100-yard rushers, Fairley 182 & Simmons 113 and both with two touchdowns, the running game piled up 366 total yards. Beau Freeman and Laetner Naramore led the Hornet defense. For their first game the Hornets
played well and showed a lot of promise.

All our 'in the know' football writers are busy making hurricane preparations, however, as soon as these storms blow over we'll have an in depth recap of the game. For now though, this writer can say, despite injury and cramps, what a great first showing. The coaches now see what the guys are capable of in a real game situation and adjustments will be made accordingly. We can also say that fans are behind the team. East Central's bleachers were overflowing with Hurley folk, parents, students, teachers and school administrators who made the hour drive to support the team.

This fan would like to recognize D.C. Bloodsworth (#4) for showing Hornet Spirit and Pride while alerting the crowd when the team needed fans to make some noise. If you see a player this week, tell him how proud you are, and to keep working hard! We're behind you boys!

Coach Dossett reports that the team played hard throughout the contest. It was a team effort that will help us improve for future games. Drew Depperschmidt and Kade McGill are to be commended for an excellent effort on Defense and Offense. Kyle Waltman played an outstanding game on defense and on the offensive line. Coach also reports that many of the players played in their first football game ever.

Traveling Directions to Greene County High School: Travel Hwy 63 north to Leakesville then Hwy 57 west out of Leakesville. Turn left three (3) miles. The school and all sport facilities are located one (1) mile on the left.

Traveling Directions to Harrison Central High School Sports Facilities: Football: From ECHS travel south on Hwy 63 to I-10. Take I-10 west to Hwy 49 (exit 34) north of Gulfport. Traveling Hwy 49, turn right at the school sign. There should be six traffic lights and turn on the seventh from I-10.

As parents, it's hard to find time between work, groceries and all of our other obligations to meet the people who spend so much time with our kids and have such an important influence on their life. If you know anything about our public education system, you know that teachers are not adequately compensated for the time, effort, heart and soul they give to helping build the future citizens of our communities. Our coaches spend every evening and a great part of their weekend working for our kids. The coaches have graciously given a short biography so that we may get to know a little more about them. The next time you see them, stop and say thanks for their hard work.

Coach Marcus High - ECHS Head Coach

Coach High graduated from Stone High School in 1993. From there he went on to play football at MGCCC for a year and moved on to play with University of Arkansas, Monticello. He played in the Mississippi vs Alabama All Star Classic and captained the Mississippi North vs South All Star Game. Coach High went to work for UAM as assistant strength and conditioning coach, assistant offensive line coach and recruited the states of Mississippi and Texas. Gautier, followed by Vancleave have been Coach High's previous high school coaching experiences. He is married to Rhonda High, a librarian at Vancleave schools, and has two young sons. Coach High says his favorite football moment is the next game!

Coach Josh Bishop - ECHS

Coach Bishop graduated from East Central in 1998 and studied two years at MGCCC and went on to graduate in 2003 from University of Southern Mississippi. East Central has been his first coaching position. He would like to thank his wife, Miranda Bishop, who is a teacher at East Central High, and his two sons, Tank and Crash, for their support. Coach Bishop's favorite football quote is, "If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother."

Coach Eric Denmark - ECHS

Coach Denmark graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1981. He played college football at Ole Miss. He has coached at Pascagoula High School (1993-1997), Moss Point (1997-1998), Gautier (1998-2002), Resurrection as Athletic Director (2002-2003), Vancleave (2003-2008). His favorite football moments have been beating Mississippi State in 1983 and going to the Independence Bowl. Coach Denmark is married to his high school sweetheart, Phyllis, and has two sons, Tyler, 18, and Hayden, 16.

Coach Eric Neel - ECHS

Coach Neel attended Lumberton High School in Lumberton MS. He attended and played baseball at Pearl River CC and graduated from USM in 2000. He has coached at West Marion HS, George County and East Central. Coach Neel's favorite football moment is when his dad's team won the State Championship in 1983, went 13-0 and ranked #1 in MS ahead of bigger school Moss Point. Coach Neel would like to say thanks to Melissa, Christian and Cole for all their support every year.

Coach Kyle Long - ECHS

Coach Long graduated from East Central and University of Southern Mississippi. He coached football and baseball at Stone High School before coming to East Central. His favorite sport quote is by Theodore Roosevelt, "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." Coach Long has been married to the former Stephanie Hembree from Agricola for 9 months.

Coach Tom Horne - ECMS

Coach Horne graduated from A.C. Mosley High School in Panama City, Florida. He attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Coach Horne has coached wrestling at Rosenwald Middle School, football at Williamson High School and basketball at East Central Middle School. His favorite saying is "to complain is to admit defeat".

Coach Jonathan May - ECMS

Coach May graduated from Delta High School in Arkansas and attended University of Arkansas at Monticello. He has coached varsity basketball and baseball for McGehee High School in McGehee,AR and a AAA State Champs varsity football team. WOW!

The Touchdown Club meeting had an amazing turn out. Over 25 parents came to the meeting to support their player and the East Central Football Program.

What did we talk about?

Meet the Teams and Fish Fry - we have donations from parents, fans and businesses (including nearly 100lbs of catfish) that cover everything for the fish fry except oil. Wow!
Class Reps were asked to make calls reminding parents/players to send in ticket money by Thursday Aug. 14th and to ask for volunteers to help with fish fry.
We have new volunteers for Middle School Sandwich making, Stephanie Plummer and Kristy Carter (also one other mother whose name I did not get). Wanda Green, Pam Waltman and Sis Naramore will continue to make sandwiches for 9th-12th grades. Thanks, Moms!
Touchddown Club President, Mark Pearson, discussed the importance of the Touchdown Club to the building of a strong football program.
Mark also discussed the need for volunteers in the concession stand for set up, clean up and workers for JV/9th grade and Middle School games.
Coach High will have our new t-shirts to sell at Meet the Teams, which have the new hornet logo and a cool new slogan.

The Touchdown Club exists as a support system for the East Central football program and to fill the unmet needs of all East Central football coaches and players.

The Touchdown Club is open to all parents and fans.

The Touchdown Club is led by an elected board.

The Touchdown Club's main fundraising is the operation of the concession stands during High School, Middle School, and JV/9th grade games. Other fundraising includes selling advertising signs, selling merchandise, and a fish fry.

Touchdown Club Meeting Tues. 7/22/2008

What a turn out! We had a lot of parents and fans show up for the meeting. Thank you all so much for coming out and supporting your player. We were finally able to elect new officers and class representatives. Thanks so much to those of you who took the leap and stepped up to take a leading role in supporting our football players. Thanks Coach High and Coach Dossett for attendance, input and support.

There are so many exciting things happening this year, lots of new fundraising activities and ideas to support the teams.

Our first event is "Meet the Team Night", scheduled for August 15th. All teams , Middle School, High School, and Cheerleaders will be introduced. As a fundraising effort, the Touchdown Club will host a Fish Fry this night also. Players will be coming home with pre-sale dinner tickets for this event soon after the start of school. Parents, please watch for these and help your son sell these tickets for the program.
One event, especially of note, is that a few of our games will be televised, along with interviews with Coach High. We do not have all of the final information, dates, or times yet. As soon as those are available we'll get those out to parents and fans. This is a great oppurtunity for our coaches and players. EC's really coming up in the world!
The club is also planning to host a special pre-game Homecoming dinner for players. We would also like the team to have a parade float. If anyone has a trailer they would like to donate for the float please contact the club closer to Homecoming.
The Club will also be selling football t-shirts with the new hornet logo, hornet backpacks and 'Home of a Hornet' yard signs.
Coach High and The Touchdown Club would like to host a Youth Football night with introduction of pee-wee teams. We will be contacting youth coaches in the near future.

The team continues to train through
the summer and attend area camps.
Receivers and quarterbacks attended
a 7 on 7 competition in Ocean Springs
this week. Linemen attended a linemen
camp at MGCCC earlier in the summer
and brought home a huge trophy won
during a sled pushing contest and setting
a new camp record. Go team!

Keeping the Swarm Strong

Through the Summer

Coach High has announced the summer training schedules. Players are given 36 chances to make the 24 required workouts. Credit will be given for summer football camps. Coach High feels the team has worked too hard in the off season to loose the intensity over the summer.

Weight and Conditioning will be every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6pm to 8pm through June and July. Make up days will be every Wednesday, 8am to 10am.

MGCCC Lineman Camp will be held June 15 to June 18. See coaches for more information.

How many pirates does it take to bring down one hornet?... too many!

What a great showing for the Hornets! Varsity scored on the Pirates 8 times and the JV scored 3 times. We took pictures of our runningbacks, however, they are so fast the pictures were blurred. The offensive and defensive lines stood like brick walls. Hornet fans were wowed.

The Touchdown Club met last Tuesday, May 6th. The club is still in need of new officers. If any parent or fan would like to serve as officer or volunteer please contact Nancy Lowe at nlowe1@gmail.com We'd love to have you participate!

Next season we'll be looking for volunteers for the following:

Special thanks to Sis Naramore, Mary Gaurdia and Regina Dickerson for making sandwiches for the 9th grade and Middle School team games. Our boys were well fed! The Touchdown Club would also like to thank the parents, family and friends who volunteered in the concession stand during the Middle School Spring Jamboree. Thanks also to Mr. and Mrs. Andaluz for video taping hornet Spring practices and games. Way to pitch in!

The 9th Grade and Middle School teams have completed their spring training. The Middle School hosted the Spring Jamboree with Vancleave and St. Martin in attendance. The Middle School won one game and tied the second. Way to go teams!

There will be a Touchdown Club Meeting Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 6:30pm in the high school fieldhouse. We invite parents of high school/middle school players, alumni, and fans to attend. It may seem early, however, it is only three and half months till the first game of the 2008/2009 season. The exciting upcoming season and events will be discussed, along with officer elections.
